Deepika Padukone explains why she has not signed any Hollywood project after xXx: Return of the Xander Cage

Deepika Padukone started the year with the intense film Chhapaak, in which she played the role of an acid attack survivor. The film was based on the life of real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Deepika was seen on the screen after two years. The actress who turned producer with Chhapaak has some interesting projects lined up.

The Om Shanti Om actress recently announced that she will be doing the remake of the Hollywood film The Intern alongside Rishi Kapoor. However, the actress who featured in the Hollywood film xXx: The Return of Xander Cage in 2017 never signed a film in the West post that. While talking to a daily, the actress spoke about the same. Deepika said that she does not evaluate films as Indian or international but looks at it as a medium where she can express herself. She said that if that opportunity comes anywhere out of India she is always happy to explore. She said that content is her priority and she did Xander Cage because her character was extremely powerful and strong. She said that she is not actively seeking something in Hollywood, but she seeks for great content.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone will next be seen in Ranveer Singh starrer '83 in which she plays the role of Kapil Dev's wife Romi Dev. She is also the co-producer of the film. She has also signed a Shakun Batra directorial in which she will be seen alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday.

Sayani Gupta starrer Shameless is India's official entry for Oscars 2021 in the Live Action Short Film category

Actors Sayani Gupta, Hussain Dalal, and Rishabh Kapoor starrer short film Shameless is India's official entry for Oscars 2021 in the Live Action Short Film category. The film is written and directed by Keith Gomes. Keith Gomes thanked the cast and crew of the film who are National and Oscar winners. He said he makes films with little funding from family and friends. He said that everyone comes together with loads of love and passion. Gomes said that he couldn’t be more blessed. Shahid Kapoor is happy that Kabir Singh was a success; says he can now pay for his new house

2019 was a blockbuster year for actor Shahid Kapoor as he delivered the biggest hit of his career with Kabir Singh . Despite the film being criticized for its misogyny by a section of the society, the film did exceptionally well at the box office. The actor while talking to a daily said that 2019 has been a defining year for him as it has empowered him to play all types of characters. The actor said that Kabir Singh was not the kind of character that the audience expects of him. He thinks that giving the audience the unexpected is what his relationship with them is based on. Talking about the success of Kabir Singh, he said that he just bought a house in Worli and needs to pay for it and so he is happy that he got a successful film. He further said that people see actors very differently, but they too have the same issues of running a house and giving their family a good life. Kabir Singh topped the list of most searched movies on Google in India this year beating films like Aven
